Institute 193 is pleased to present OK-47, an exhibition of sewn and stuffed gun sculptures, many of which are modeled after actual weapons used in recent US mass shootings. With fabric from NYC’s Garment District or her roommate’s Goodwill pile, Lexington native Natalie Baxter turns images of violent weapons, traditionally viewed as objects of power and masculinity, into brightly colored caricatures using a historically feminine craft technique.
