The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra opens its 97th season with a concert of two great symphonic masterpieces: the dramatic, beautiful and exciting Symphony No. 4 of Tchaikovsky, and the colorful tone poem Pines of Rome by Respighi. In this performance of Pines of Rome, more than 50 extra brass players will join the UK Symphony for the finale, a musical depiction of the ancient Roman army’s triumphant return to Rome along the Appian Way.
