Our Events

In addition to our editorial pursuits, Smiley Pete Publishing produces a handful of unique events each year, designed to highlight Lexington's food, beverage and entertainment culture and to engage our audiences with our fantastic local businesses in fun and entertaining ways.

Here's a sampling of what we have coming up:

May 19-20, 2018 // Various locations

Formerly managed by the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass as an annual fundraiser, this tour of Lexington home kitchens is now run by Smiley Pete Publishing (with proceeds continuing to benefit the CDCB). The self-guided tour highlights unique designs, appliances, gadgets and creative solutions to inspire your next great kitchen project. More information on tickets and locations will be available as the event nears.

Premiering in June 2017 to great success, Bluegrass BBQ Fest is a free, 2-day downtown celebration of local and regional BBQ and live music. With over a dozen local BBQ vendors, beer, bourbon and more, as well as two days of live music, the event is on the path to quickly become one of downtown's favorite summer festivals.

Think of Lexington Burger Week as a weeklong, choose-your-own-adventure burger festival, with 40+ local restaurants each offering a unique, mouthwatering burger that's not on their regular menu for $5 throughout the week. Participants are encouraged to pick up a Burger Week Passport (available at any participating location, or at the Smiley Pete Headquarters) and get it stamped for each burger purchase made throughout the week, for a chance to win some great prizes. 2018 will mark the 4th annual Lexington Burger Week. As the event nears, we will add descriptions of each featured burger to the Lexington Burger Week website.
