Lexington, KY - President Bill Clinton will celebrate Earth Day in Lexington to bring attention to the sustainability efforts made by local students and leaders, according to a press release from Fayette County Public Schools.
Clinton will visit the region on April 23 to speak with nearly 6,000 students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community and state leaders at the Kentucky Horse Park Alltech Arena. The former president's visit will honor the Bluegrass Youth Sustainability Council, a coalition of students representing all Fayette County public and private high schools.
Led by student facilitator and Henry Clay High School senior Jane Brady Knight, the council is a collaborative of action-oriented student leaders working with community partners to create solutions in all areas of sustainability.
