Local First Lexington was formed in 2008 with the goal to help keep Lexington a unique, vibrant and economically stable community. Their website features a directory of more than 100 member businesses, all of which are locally owned. Studies have shown that locally-owned independent businesses keep a significantly larger percentage of revenue in the community than chain businesses do.
