The Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking public input on the Lexington Area Participation Plan (PP), according to a press release. The MPO is the transportation planning agency for Fayette and Jessamine Counties.
The Participation Plan (PP) outlines the MPO’s public engagement process. It is the official policy for how the MPO will disseminate information to the public and to stakeholders, to ensure there is adequate time for them to provide input, and to engage them in the transportation planning process.
The PP also outlines the process for adopting and amending the major transportation planning documents produced by the MPO including the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (20+ years) and short-range Transportation Improvement Program (4 years).
Public review and comment on the Participation Plan will be held for 45 days beginning on December 13, 2012 and ending on January 27, 2013.
