Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC announced that Jennifer S. Smart, a member in the Firm's Lexington office, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Fayette County Bar Foundation. Smart is a member of the firm's Tax and Finance Practice Group and the State and Local Tax Team Co-Chair.
The firm has also been selected as environmental counsel to the Kentucky League of Cities. Jack C. Bender is serving as the primary contact to the League on environmental regulatory matters and Carl W. Breeding is serving as the primary contact on environmental legislative matters.

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce announces the addition of Mandy Schott to its staff as membership development manager. Schott will be responsible for membership sales in the Lexington area. The Lexington Art League (LAL) announced that Stephanie Pevec, formerly the education and exhibitions director of the Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster, Ohio, has joined LAL as development director. Before joining LAL, Pevec served as a programming consultant for LexArts and guest artist with the UK Dance Ensemble.
Davis H. Elliot Company, an electrical contracting company with offices in Lexington, Roanoke, Va., and Broken Arrow, Okla., has named David Haskins as president and CEO. The company has also named Eric Minton as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Haskins has worked for Davis H. Elliot since the 1980s, having worked for the company's Lexington-based affiliate Shely Construction Company until it was merged into Davis H. Elliot in 1996. Minton joined the company in 2001, after serving 27 years as an engineer with Kentucky Utilities Company.

Thomas Guskey, Distinguished Service Professor at Georgetown College, was the keynote speaker at the 2008 Phi Delta Kappa Summit on High-Performing Educators, held in San Antonio, Texas.
The Kentucky Press Association awarded 17 of its honors in the Associate Newspaper category to Chevy Chaser Magazine at its "Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers 2008" ceremony in January, including the first place award for best Web Site and third place for General Excellence. Art director Chris Rosenthal earned eight awards in six categories, and writers Tim Hill, Bob Horine, Saraya Brewer, Kristin Ingwell Goode, Anne Sabatino, Ann Bowe and Katherine Shaw were also recognized for exceptional work.
