What was your first job?
A mall parking lot clown. My mother got me the job, despite my obvious Coulrophobia. My first day of work was a 98 degree day in July and I’dhad either too little or too much to drink, depending on who you ask.
It was also my last day. Sorry, Mom. Sorry, clown boss. Sorry, kids.
What is a perfect day off for you?
Get up early and read for a few hours. Take a long meandering scooter ride in the country. Drink a cold, very hoppy IPA. Do some laundry to justify existence. Play with Legos with my family.
What is something about you that would surprise your friends?
I’ve never read the Russians.
What is the last new piece of music you listened to and loved?
“Kentucky” by Panopticon.
What is a favorite high school memory?
A friend and I did a surprise drag version of “Enough is Enough” during a student talent show at Henry Clay. I hope the beautiful and talented Rees twins have forgiven us after all these years - it really was meant as a tribute.
What’s a favorite line or scene from a movie?
The last 15 minutes of anything by Takashi Miike.
