A Facebook page has been created to allow users to show their displeasure at an upcoming New Year’s Eve show at Art Bar on Euclid Avenue, which is scheduled to feature guest DJ Hunter Moore.
Moore was the founder of the now-shuttered pornographic website IsAnyoneUp.com, which allowed users to anonymously post scandalous, often nude, photos of themselves or others. Deemed a “revenge porn” site, because many of the submitted images were of intimate photos from relationships that ended poorly, Is Anyone Up and Moore drew the ire of many anti-bullying groups, as well as of the many people who appeared on the site without permission. Posts to the site often included as much information about the subject as possible, such as their workplace, school or social media accounts, resulting in devastating humiliation (Read one woman’s account here).
The site was closed in April of 2012, but Moore remains a media personality and performing DJ.
The Facebook page No More Moore in Lexington has acquired over 500 “members” in less than a day.
Many Facebook users have also taken to vocalizing their concern about the performance on ArtBar’s Facebook page.
Moore performed at ArtBar earlier in the year in October for a Halloween show.
Requests for comment from a representative for ArtBar via e-mail and their Facebook page were not immediately returned.
