Join 21c Museum Hotel on Saturday, March 2 at 1pm for a special artist talk & portrait session with Rudy Salgado of River City Tintype Photography Studio! Rudy will show historical wet-plate collodion images from his collection, and share his experience and portfolio, as a 21st century wet-plate artist. Collodion photography was invented in 1851 and swiftly became popular for Americans as portraits and tourist images throughout the 19th century. Rudy pairs his passion for history with contemporary portraiture as a working artist. Like 19th-century tintype photographers, he will bring a mobile darkroom and make photographic plates on site after his presentation. You can sign up to get your very own portrait done on Saturday between 2pm-7pm here: https://bookrivercitytintype.as.me/schedule.php
