The 28th Annual Heritage Festival, sponsored by St. Andrew Orthodox Church, celebrates the cultural heritage of the Middle East and Eastern Europe with food, music and dance.
The Heritage Festival will be held Saturday, September 15th from noon to 8 PM and Sunday, September 16th from noon to 5 PM on the grounds of St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 1136 Higbee Mill Road, Lexington, Kentucky, located inside Man o’ War near Clays Mill Road.
The event includes activities for the entire family. Exotic foods from Lebanon, Palestine, Russia, Serbia and other Eastern European nations will be served, and a bakery with various delicacies will be available. Various cultural dances with performers in native costume are offered throughout the two-day event, as well as concerts of Byzantine and Slavonic liturgical music. A bookstore with various items for purchase will be on site, and church tours by parish priest Father Tom Gallaway will be conducted throughout the event. There will also be a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the parish.
Admission to the event is free.
