Kentucky boy Sturgill Simpson’s rise on the alt-country scene has been a meteoric one, from critical acclaim to a 2-night stay at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville, Tn. His 2016 tour is in support of his upcoming effort, ‘A Sailors Guide to Earth’. He expands his sonic palette more, with deep cuts featuring more psych-rock influences and the addition of strings and horns, all depicting the life of a forlorn sailor, away from home.
