Located in Lexington’s City Center development, the Vine Street location of the high-end Cincinnati-based steakhouse Jeff Ruby’s is the fifth in the country. The 10,000-square-foot eatery features plenty of nods to Kentucky, from a Wildcat-blue grand piano to a horseshoe-shaped bar, accented by plenty of contemporary decor.
“We want Lexingtonians to feel like they’ve escaped on a little vacation for an evening, and the people from out of town are going to know they’re in Lexington,” said owner Jeff Ruby, who opened the original Cincinnati location in 1970. During warm-weather months, guests can dine outside on the patio, and the Lexington location also has private, thematic rooms including the Wildcat, Gatsby, Bourbon and Breeders’ Cup rooms.
Although the menu is similar to otherJeff Ruby’s locations, it features some items created for the Bluegrass state, like a four-layer Kentucky blue cake topped with a sugar UK stencil, a shrimp-and-grits dish and Steak Rossini.
