The owners of Alfalfa Restaurant are looking to pass the torch on the 43-year-old Lexington eatery.
According to a message signed by Alfalfa’s owners Jim Happ and Betsey Moses and posted on social media, they are seeking inquiries from potential buyers interested in either shared or sole ownership for the restaurant.
"There comes a time when a transition is necessary. After 27 years of being part of the loving team at Alfalfa Restaurant, this is one of those times. Betsey and I need to step aside as the owners of Alfalfa,” said the message, which was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The message stated that the restaurant has a strong core base of employees willing to provide sweat equity and management experience in exchange for partial ownership, and it welcomed inquiries and ideas, which could be sent to the restaurant’s e-mail address at alfalfalex@outlook.com.
“We sincerely hope Alfalfa Restaurant, which has so much history in Lexington, will thrive for many more years,” the message stated.
