James Overbee Artsplace, 161 Mill St., 7 p.m., $8. Now in its 10th year of production, Red Barn Radio features live weekly performances of Old Time and Bluegrass musicians, recorded in front of a live studio audience and simulcast onto various radio stations in the area.
Jazz: Live At The Library presents Eddie Brooskhire Quintent Central Library Theatre, 140 East Main St., 7 p.m., Free. Sponsored by the Lexington Public Library, "Jazz: Live at the Library" celebrates jazz music with its monthly concerts. April's concert will feature the Eddie Brookshire Quintet, a group that was voted "Best Jazz Band" in Dayton, Oh. The group can best be described as post bop, contemporary, high energy with an ever-so-subtle blue note horn sound. Their music consists primarily of original compositions. Eddie (bass) brings four top players with him: Jack Novotny (saxes), Gary Onady (trumpet), Keigo Heirahawa (piano) and Fenton Sparks (drums).

Sariot is Saraya Brewer, Managing Editor of Chevy Chaser and Southsider Magazines and sometimes-contributor to Business Lexington and other local publications. A volunteer DJ on WRFL 88.1 FM (the University of Kentucky's college and community radio station) for more than five years and founding board member of LAMA (Lexington Area Music Alliance), she helped found a local multi-venue music and art festival called Boomslang: A Celebration of Sound & Art, which is gearing up for its fourth installment in Fall 2012.
