Lexington's Chamber Music Festival celebrates its sixth year this August, and organizers are embarking on an endeavor to reach new audiences in a different way in the weeks preceding the event, starting today.
From July 12 - 22, more than 20 "flash mob" performances by Masters and Doctoral candidates from some of the best conservatories and music schools across America will take place across Lexington, in unconventional spaces that include bookstores, art galleries and street corners. The exact location of these events, which will all be free and open to the public, will be announced through the Chamber Festival's blog around 30 minutes prior to each performance, and interested parties can sign up for text message alerts as well.
The Chamber Music Festival will take place August 31- September 2 at Fasig-Tipton Farm and will feature master classes, an open rehearsal and three concerts. Tickets for the festival are now available here.
