Lexington, KY -
Central Baptist Hospital officials today announced a $200 million expansion of the hospital's Nicholasville Road campus. The 7-story facility is to house a new cancer center and a new women's health center, Central Baptist President & CEO Bill Sisson said at an afternoon press conference.
Development plans are to be submitted to LFUCG for approval on May 1. Once approved, it is projected that construction on the 337,903 square foot building will get underway in July and will be completed within 24 to 30 months.
The new facility will be erected in what is now parking space on the north side of the existing hospital. A five deck parking garage will be added.
In addition to the new cancer and women's centers, the new facility will house 40 intensive care beds and inpatient imaging services and 44 private medical/surgical beds.
Plans also call for a new kitchen and cafeteria.
Sisson said the hospital's plan for a facility adjacent to the Hamburg development in eastern Fayette County now calls for construction in 10 to 15 years.
