Borne out of a desire to assist victims of the April 6.3 magnitude earthquake centered in L'Aquila, Italy, Happy Hour for Humanity is set for its third and largest to-date happy hour on Saturday, June 13, at the Lorillard Lofts, 201 Price Road.
The monthly happy hour changes cause and venue each month, according to Nate Eldridge who, along with friends he meets with daily for coffee, organized the event.
Usually Happy Hour for Humanity takes on more of a regular happy hour feel at local establishments where the bar will donate proceeds from the happy hour and the patrons are encouraged to donate as well. But the June installment of the happy hour will be more of an event to make the happy hour better known. The June installment, according to Eldridge, will be an all-out happening with live art, live music, DJs, an art auction, food, car show, former NFL players available for autographs and a children's fashion show. Proceeds will all go to benefit the UK HealthCare's Kentucky Children's Hospital.
Eldridge will provide his DJ skills as Nate FX while his bar, Lower 48, will provide a full bar. A shuttle will be available to Lorillard Lofts, located off Leestown Road.
