Lexington, KY - The Lexington Singers, which is composed of nearly 200 local voices, is one of the oldest continuously performing community choral groups in America. Often performing in tandem with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, many of the Lexington Singers' concerts have become seasonal and holiday standards. A Bluegrass Tapestry. 8 p.m. Sept. 30, Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. An original multimedia event that celebrates the beauty of the Commonwealth with images from renowned photographer James Archambeault intertwined with choral music of the Lexington Singers.
Home for the Holidays. 8 p.m. Dec. 10, Singletary Center for the Arts. A collaborative holiday concert featuring The Lexington Singers, Diana Evans Dancers, Scott County High School Brass, Lexington Catholic High School Choir and Alluring Handbell Ensemble.
Handel's Messiah. 8 p.m. Dec. 19, Singletary Center for the Arts. Featuring soloists Angelique Clay, Reginald Smith, LaShelle Allen and tenor Gregory Turay, as well as guest conductor Jefferson Johnson.
Hayden's Creation. April 15 or April 16, Centenary United Methodist Church.
Pops at the Opera (House). 8 p.m. May 21 and 3 p.m. May 22, Lexington Opera House. This year's POPS concert will celebrate the music from popular Broadway shows and Grammy-winning tunes. Featuring collaborate work with area high school choirs.
