LEXINGTON, KY - Jerry Lundergan, owner of Lundy's Special Events, and two time head of the Kentucky Democratic Party, plead not guilty through his legal counsel this afternoon in Fayette District Court to a criminal complaint stemming from a temporary structure he's erected adjacent to the Carrick House at Third and Limestone.

According to the criminal complaint Lundergan has failed to respond after a temporary Certificate of Occupancy expired in April for the structure. According to emails obtained by Lundergan had previously disassembled what Lundy's Web site describes as an "additionalĂ– structure" and reassembled it the following day as a temporary permit expired to gain a new one.
Lundergan's counsel, Alison Grimes - also his daughter - entered the plea as he was not in attendance at District Court arraignment. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September, 10 at 10:30 in District Court.
A call to Lundergan's office was referred to his mobile phone which went directly to voice mail. That message has not been returned.
