Lexington, KY - Following services at Southland Christian Church in northern Jessamine County, a procession prior to his burial will bring fallen Lexington Police Officer Bryan J. Durman through the streets he gave his life patrolling.
Though Officer Durman will be interred slightly north of the site of his funeral on Harrodsburg Road, a procession of mourners and uniformed officers will bring the 2-and-a-half-year veteran of the Lexington Division of Police through downtown and back out to Bluegrass Memorial Gardens following the noon service.
One-hundred intersections along the procession route will be closed, according to police.
The route begins northward on Harrodsburg Road from the church before heading East on Man O' War. The procession will then head into downtown on Richmond Road from Man O' War before turning South on Broadway and proceeding back to Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
Durman, who was slain in a hit-and-run incident Thursday night, is the first Lexington Police Officer to perish in the line of duty since 1985.
