Lexington, KY - What is "telework?" What technology do I need to make it work, successfully? What are the legal considerations and how can I manage employees remotely?
These questions and many more are to be addressed at a pair of seminars on February 3 in Lexington and February 20 in Louisville.
According to Wikipedia, telework, telecommuting, e-commuting, e-work, working at home, or working from home is a work arrangement in which employees enjoy flexibility in working location and hours. In other words, the daily commute to a central place of work is replaced by telecommunications links and focusing on results, not where work is performed.
ConnectKentucky is partnering with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to produce the seminars on how business, government, organizations and individuals can leverage broadband connectivity. The sessions are designed to provide business leaders and human resource managers with information to either allow staff to work remotely or to formalize a telework policy.
