Urban Collage, Inc., an urban design consulting firm, has announced that Samantha Castro has joined the company’s Lexington office as a senior urban designer.
Charles “Charlie” Boland has been named major accounts/external affairs specialist for Kentucky American Water. He joined American Water, parent company of Kentucky American Water, in 2009 as a field resource coordinator, based in Lexington. Before joining American Water, he was employed by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government for more than 23 years, serving in roles in the chief administrator’s office, the department of housing and the mayor’s office.
Thomas D. Flanigan has joined the firm of McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland, PLLC as a partner. H. Trigg Mitchell has joined the firm as a senior associate. Both will practice in the Lexington office.
Jeannine M. Petell has been hired as a vice president of Community Trust Bank and will be the new branch manager at the bank’s Leestown Road office at 109 Louie Place in Lexington.
Unified Trust Company, N.A. has promoted Kevin Avent to the position of managing director of wealth management. Avent previously served the company as a fiduciary investment advisor.
Traditional Bank has announced several recent promotions. Todd Smith has been promoted to senior vice president and loan officer, and Mason Guy and Buddy Schneider have each been promoted to vice president and loan officer. In addition, Kim Thiel has been promoted to vice president and credit risk officer, Dana Adamson to assistant vice president and marketing officer and Sarah Jefferson to assistant vice president and cash management officer. Lynne Cecil has been named branch administrator officer for the bank.

Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass will welcome three new members into JA’s Bluegrass Business Hall of Fame in June. The 2012 inductees include: Terry E. Forcht, founder, chairman, & CEO of Forcht Group of Kentucky; Lexington entrepreneur Davis Marksbury; and W. Terry McBrayer, founder of McBrayer McGinnis Leslie & Kirkland, PLLC.
Sonitrol of Lexington was recently recognized as the recipient of five national awards at the Sonitrol National Dealer Association Conference in April. The Lexington company was honored as the top-producing Sonitrol office in the United States for 2011 and brought home the Sonitrol Cup. The company was also recognized as the Warranty Dealer of the Year. Sonitrol of Lexington security consultant Bobby Klaiber brought home the prized Sonitrol belt for achieving the top sales in the nation. Scott Green was also honored for placing third in top-producing sales. Crystal Newton, business development coordinator, received the Sonitrol Best Practices Award for Administration/Support for 2011.
