Lexington, KY – On Thursday the 40 or so members of the 2011-12 Leadership will be celebrate the completion of their 11-month course introducing them to facets of the greater Lexington community and a number of class projects aimed at better serving the area.
When they are handed their certificates they will be joined for the first time by a large contingent of previous class members looking to “engage, connect and inspire” in their years since graduating from the class.
The alumni group will look to act as a resource to members of current Leadership Lexington classes, and founders hope taking part in events with former class members will re-inspire the forces behind previous class projects like the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden, public art set to be installed this year on the Downtown Arts Center, a concert free to those that had verified at least 10 hours of volunteerism and one that focused on starting the alumni association.
The class graduation and Leadership Lexington Alumni event will take place Thursday at 4:30 in the 21st floor offices of Stoll Keenon Ogden in Central Bank building. Alumni interested in joining the association can do so at the event or at www.leadershiplexingtonalumni.com. The membership costs $35 for a year or $300 for a lifetime membership.
