<p>Lexington, KY, July 18, 2012: Lexington Hospital for Cats has been named a Gold Level Cat Friendly Practice by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). The cat-only veterinary hospital, located on Southland Drive in Lexington, is now one of only forty-nine Gold Level Cat Friendly Practices in North America, and is the first and only in Kentucky. According to the AAFP, Lexington Hospital for Cats showed that they practice with a feline perspective and embrace the standards needed to elevate care for cats. Cats are the number-one pet in America but are twice as likely as dogs not to see a veterinarian. The Cat Friendly Practice Program was started to help veterinary hospitals be more welcoming to their cat patients. The goal for this program is to relieve the stress some cats have while at a veterinary visit. If that stress is reduced, the hope is that more cats will be given the care they truly need. “We are very proud of being designated a Gold Level Cat Friendly Practice” says Dr. Alice Mills, veterinarian at Lexington Hospital for Cats. “We believe happy vet visits make for healthier cats. Everything we do is designed from the cat\\\\\\\'s point of view”. Lexington Hospital for Cats is located at 271 Southland Dr. in Lexington, KY. The hospital is open from 7:15am-8:00pm on Monday, 7:15am-6:00pm Tuesday-Friday, and 9am-noon on Saturday.
