Lexington, KY - Lexington police hope to hear from bystanders who witnessed a Sunday night collision on the inner loop of New Circle Road, just past Leestown Road. Officers arriving on the scene found the front seat passenger of the vehicle on the side of the road suffering from critical injuries as a result of being ejected from the vehicle.
The initial investigation indicates the Chevy Trailblazer veered off the right shoulder, traveled up an embankment and appears to have flipped. It is unknown at this point of the investigation how the passenger was ejected or from where. The passenger and operator were both taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital. At the time of this report, the female passenger is in critical condition suffering from life threatening injuries and the male operator is in serious but stable condition.

None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Officers who first arrived at the crash site said there were bystanders on scene who could have possibly witnessed the collision. However, they left before the scene was stabilized and the officers could speak with them.
