Lexington, KY – This week in conjunction with the Good Giving Guide charity fundraising campaign, caffeine seekers at four area coffee shops can tell the barista their favorite non-profit among those appearing in the Good Giving Guide and 6 percent of the shops’ proceeds will go to the group with the most mentions.
Common Grounds Coffee House, the Daily Grind, and the Lexington and Danville locations of the Hub Coffee Shop and Café are all participating this week.
As of Tuesday morning the Good Giving Guide had raised $230,896 for 68 area non-profits with a goal of $400,000 by the end of the year. The second annual event, which got underway on Oct. 27th has brought in more than $5,000 for 16 of the non-profits taking part. Fifty of them have raised more than $1,000 and the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence is leading the charge with 229 total gifts worth $21,367, as of Tuesday morning.
