Alltech has appointed Hal Gervis to direct the growth of its newly expanded beer and spirit brands as global operations manager for the company’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Gervis previously served as senior operations manager for Alltech.
The YMCA of Central Kentucky has named David Martorano as its new president/CEO. Currently the vice president of operations for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, Martorano will assume his new role on January 2, 2013.
Fifth Third Bank has announced that Pattie Imperial has been named investment advisors executive for the Kentucky market.

Kentucky Bank has appointed Ryan Quarles to its Scott County Regional Board of Directors. Quarles is the current member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing Scott County. He serves on the Agriculture and Small Business Committee, the Banking and Insurance Committee, and the Education Committee.

Commerce Lexington Inc. has named Lynn Imaging as its 2012 Small Business of the Year. Lynn Imaging was chosen among six different category winners as the Small Business of the Year. The 2012 Salute to Small Business Award category winners include: Holifield Photography (Business Success Award); Bates Security, LLC / Sonitrol of Lexington, Inc. (Innovation Award); Lynn Imaging (Legacy Award); Holiday Inn Express, Northeast (Minority Business Award); OWL, Inc. (Nonprofit Award); and J&H Lanmark – The Outdoors Store (Young Entrepreneur Award).
Bluegrass Tomorrow has awarded eight annual “Vision Awards” for exceptional contributions to the quality of life of the 18-county region. The recipients included: Morehead State University (education category); the city of Sadieville, with Mayor Claude Christensen and City Clerk Cindy Foster (conservation corridors category); Rotaract Club of Lexington (young professionals category); Frank Penn, owner of Pennbrook Farm (agriculture category); Franklin County Greenvision Commission, a coalition of the city of Frankfort, Franklin County Fiscal Court and the Frankfort Electric and Water Plant Board (green community category); Carol Hanley, associate director for the University of Kentucky Environmental and Natural Resources Initiative in the College of Agriculture (Robert Clay President’s Award); Kentucky Utilities and Nelson Maynard (Bluegrass Legacy Award); and Doug Whitlock, president of Eastern Kentucky University (Josephine Abercrombie Award).
