Lexington, KY – Toyota is getting ready for its third annual 100 Cars for Good program, in which the automaker heads to social media to allow nonprofits to make their pitch as to why they should be given one of 100 free Toyota vehicles.
Starting on July 22, Toyota will accept up to 2,500 applications from registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations at www.100carsforgood.com. Applicants will have until August 5, or until 2,500 applications have been received, to explain how a new vehicle would support their work. Starting on Aug. 19, 250 finalists will vie for one of two Toyotas per day for 50 days, based on votes from the public.
Winners will be able to select from a Highlander SUV, a Prius, a Sienna minivan, a Sienna Mobility (a handicap transport version of the Sienna) or a Tundra pickup. Each vehicle will come with a six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty from Toyota Financial Services. The runners-up every day will earn a grant of $1,000 from Toyota.
In the first two years of the competition, 18 Kentucky nonprofits have won cars, which must be used to fit the organization’s mission and cannot be raffled off.
