Joesph Gilene
Lexington, KY – KentuckyOne Health has named Joseph Gilene as president of Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, effective Oct. 28. He will assume leadership at the hospital from John Smithhisler, who currently serves as president in addition to other duties. Gilene will report to Smithhisler, who will continue as market leader for the central and eastern market for KentuckyOne, with an office at Saint Joseph Hospital.
Gilene most recently served as regional vice president for the hospital management organization Quorum Health Resources, located in Charlotte, N.C. He has also held senior executive positions at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J.; Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.; Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash.; and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He is also a certified public accountant.
