Sen. Kathy Stein
Lexington, KY - Sen. Kathy Stein (D-Lexington) has been nominated to fill a vacant Family Court Judgeship.
The Judicial Nominating Commission, led by Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton Jr., announced Friday afternoon that three attorneys have been nominated to to fill the vacancy that was created when Judge Jo Ann Wise retired on Aug. 2.
In addition to Stein, who served from 1997 to 2008 in the Kentucky House and has been in the Senate since 2009, the commission nominated Carl David Devine who practices with the law firm of Miller, Griffin and Marks as well as Christian Renau Worth, who has been in solo practice since 1997. All three reside in Lexington and are graduates of UK's College of Law.
Governor Steve Beshear now has 90 days to decide which of the three nominees will take the bench.
