Reed Short recently joined the staff of the Lexington-based general contracting company BEX Construction, Inc. as an assistant project manager.
Sam Collins has joined Central Bank as a senior credit analyst in the credit administration department, and Jordan Owens has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial mortgage lending.

Lancaster, Ky.-based Sustainment Solutions, Inc. (SSI) was selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to receive the 2014 Blue Ribbon DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award. This award recognizes SSI as one of the top 100 small businesses in the United States, and SSI is the only Kentucky-based company selected to receive this award.
