Lexington, KY - An outgrowth of last year’s Commerce Lexington Inc. Leadership Visit to Omaha, Nebraska, the inaugural EMERGE ’14 conference presented by Forcht Bank will engage the next generation leaders of Central Kentucky – young professionals – to leverage their thoughts, ideas and strategies for the betterment of our community and region this Thursday.
This full-day event will bring together young professionals and entrepreneurs with emerging leaders, business professionals and community leaders from all walks of life. By unifying our area’s YP groups, creating a voice for and empowering our young professionals to participate through networking and collaboration, our community stands to benefit through better opportunities, more diverse and engaged emerging leaders, and ultimately a stronger economy, a release from Commerce Lexington states.
The conference keynote speaker is Adam Braun, a New York Times bestselling author and the Founder of Pencils of Promise, an award-winning organization that has broken ground on more than 200 schools around the world. In recent years, he has been named to the Forbes 30-Under-30 List, Wired Magazine's "50 People Who Are Changing the World," and was selected as one of the World Economic Forum's first ten Global Shapers. He has also been a featured speaker at The White House, Google Zeitgeist and Clinton Global Initiative.
The event’s final session will feature perspectives from veteran entrepreneur Randall Stevens, Founder and CEO of ArchVision, the industry leader in the development of photorealistic, image-based computer graphics content, and relatively new entrepreneur Nate Morris, Founder and Chairman of Morris Industries, a privately-held industrial group headquartered in Lexington and co-founder of Rubicon Global, North America’s leading provider of sustainable waste and recycling services.
