Lexington, KY – The Bluegrass Hospitality Group (BHG), owners of Malone’s, Sal’s, Drake’s and Harry’s announced their original Harry’s location in the Lansdowne Shoppes will be closing to be replaced by a yet to be named new concept.
Expected to be open in time for the fall Keeneland meet, the new concept’s full bar will feature a deep selection of bourbon and wine along with food offerings set in a classic southern environment, according to a release. The food will include cola short ribs, house smoked salmon and a fried green tomato BLT from chef Alan Lamoureux.
The Harry’s patio, adjacent to Sal’s, will remain open until later this year, the release states. The other two Harry’s locations in Hamburg and Palomar will remain open.
“Choosing the first location of Harry’s is somewhat symbolic to us,” said BHG co-owner Brian McCarty. "We’re always looking for ways to give our guests exciting new experiences. This tavern atmosphere is a perfect evolution from when we launched Harry’s 11 years ago.”
This Saturday, August 23, the company will conduct an online sale of various Harry’s signs, memorabilia and select furniture. The sale will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockey’s Fund and will close on Sunday, August 24 at 5 pm.
