The Lexington Angler is shutting its doors, cutting bait after about three and a half years at its downtown Lexington location.
Owner Gene Slusher said Wednesday that the store would be closing soon but that no firm date has been set. Until then, Slusher said, the store will remain open during its regular business hours (Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and all items are on sale.
“We are fortunate to have so many wonderful customers and it has been a pleasure getting to know many of you,” a statement announcing the closing reads in part on the store website.
Slusher said he opened the fishing shop on Clay Avenue in July 2011. Slusher said he expected to close the doors for good in a month or so.
