Natasha’s Bistro & Bar on Esplanade Alley officially ceased operations Nov. 2 and canceled all upcoming musical performances.
The owners made the announcement Oct. 30 via email, imploring patrons to come out for “A Last Waltz” and enjoy what could be the last few shows at the popular music venue.
But co-owner Gene Williams doesn’t want Nov. 2 to be the day the music died.
“The main thing is we’d like to keep the music going,” he said. “We’re considering options for the future.”
One option is for new owners to take over. The lease expires in three months, and if any potential buyers step up to purchase the venue, current owners are willing to help facilitate an extension with the landlord.
“We want to help that process,” Williams said. “We’re open for conversations with anybody who would like to keep the music going.”
No changes are currently being made to the venue, and Williams said the kitchen, all fixtures, as well as the sound system and musical equipment are staying put for now while owners figure out a game plan.
