Hailing from Louisville, Ky, Bonnie "Prince" Billy has made a name for himself as one of the generation's finest songwriters well beyond his home state. This event will benefit Appalshop media collective's radio station WMMT, based out of Whitesburg, Ky., and will feature Vietnamese instrumentalist Long Thanh Nguyen as well.

"*broke" live screening and performance by Reva Williams and Will Gray Land of Tomorrow Gallery, 527 E. Third St., 7 p.m., all ages, $10. "*broke" is an award-winning documentary that explored the challenges faced by young artists trying to break into today's ever-shifting music industry. Local songwriter Reva Williams, who is featured in the film, and the film's director, Will Gray (L.A.) will perform a live set of music and do a Q&A as well.
