With a 10-inch tip-to-tip mustache flanked by 8-inch chops, Joshua "Stoney" Propes may have the most decorated beard in the state of Kentucky.
Propes recently took the first place prize in the "Partial Beard: Natural" category of the Battle of the Beards: A 'Stache for Cash Benefit in Bellefontaine, Ohio, giving him five awards in four shows during the past year.
A member of the local Nomadic Beardsmen of the Bluegrass, Propes has only been attending bearding competitions for a year. Four other members of the organization attended the Bellefontaine competition.
"No one has this style of beard that I've ever seen. It's my own cut," Propes said. "I'm a spectacle among the beard people."
This February, the local beard troupe will be hosting a fundraising at Cosmic Charlie's.
