The Downtown Lexington Corporation (DLC) is asking for volunteer musicians to sign up to play and march in the Lexington Community Band during the Lexington Christmas Parade. The DLC can arrange to borrow an instrument if you do not own one.
Band organizers are looking for marching band beginners, alumni members or professional musicians who want to be part of the fun during the parade, which will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 6 in downtown Lexington.
Participants from all over Kentucky are welcome to join. Band members should be able to complete a one-mile route. High-stepping or other fancy maneuvering will not be involved.
