The public is invited to attend the swearing-in ceremonies for the Urban County Council's 12 district councilmembers. The ceremonies will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 6, in the Kentucky Theatre.
Councilmembers being sworn in will include four new members: Shevawn Akers, District 2; Jennifer Scutchfield, District 7; ;Jennifer Mossotti, District 9; and Harry Clarke, District 10.
“Nearly one-third of our Council will be new and it is always energizing when new Councilmembers begin work,” Lexington Vice Mayor Linda Gorton said in a press release. “They will bring new perspectives and I look forward to working with them.”
