Lexington citizens interested in learning about firefighting will have the opportunity to enroll in the upcoming Citizen's Fire Academy.
The next session of the Division of Fire and Emergency Service’s popular Citizen’s Fire Academy will begin on February 11, 2013, and continue for 11 weeks. Classes will meet at 6 p.m. every Monday.
The popular CFA is open to anyone who is older than 18 years of age and lives or works in Lexington or Fayette County.
Participants learn about all aspects of the Lexington Fire Department and have fun learning. The session includes many hands-on activities such as putting on firefighting gear, holding a high-pressure hose, and climbing the ladder on an aerial truck.
The application to attend can be found on the fire department website on the city webpage.
