Town Branch Distillery's Town Branch bourbon won over consumer judges at the fifth annual Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Awards, earning the Lexington bourbon a gold medal in the straight bourbon category, according a press release. The awards kicked off in the fine dining district of Las Vegas last week, bringing together more than 300 spirits including gins, liqueurs, rums, tequilas, vodkas and whiskeys. Only brands with the highest scores receive honors.
“We’re certainly honored to have our Town Branch bourbon recognized at this level,” said Hal Gervis, global operations manager for Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company. “To know that consumer judges consider our bourbon top-notch reflects the interest we have personally seen as our bourbon has continued to grow in popularity and now is distributed in five states and counting.”
For the SIP Awards, each spirit is presented undiluted and chilled, and is scored based on aroma, taste, and finish in a blind tasting. Award levels include Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Town Branch bourbon hit the local market less than two years ago, but already boasts one platinum medal, four gold medals, and three silver medals in international and national spirits competitions, in addition to its latest gold medal.
