Organizers with Victory Christian Church and Kenwick neighbors are hosting a festival to help raise funds to upgrade and preserve the church's facilities, and to further integrate the church into the Kenwick community, according to Pastor Rachele Royale Snellgrove.
Music begins at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 and includes The Tallboys, Bruce Lewis, Dave Ponder and Friends, Warren Byrom and Ruby Wiant. From 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. there will be a community BBQ potluck with side dishes made with produce from the harvest of the Kenwick Victory Community Garden. (Earlier in the day, from 9 a.m. - noon, Kenwick neighbor Sara Ann Constantine will host a cooking lesson and the food prepared at the demonstration will be featured at the potluck.)
Along with the potluck and music, there will be corn hole, a raffle and children activities.
Admission is $5 in advance and $7 the day of the festival. E-mail racheleroyale@mac.com to reserve a $5 wristband.
