Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) reported sales totaling over $1.7 billion as of Dec. 31, 2013, according to a release from the organization.
According to 2014 LBAR President Linda Wiley, “The market outlook for 2014 is positive as the signs of a turnaround continue. REALTORS are encouraged by the growth in sales during 2013 and the extremely low interest rate environment.”
Residential sales reported during December 2013 versus December 2012 increased 2 percent, from 605 to 612 sales closed.
LBAR represents more than 2,000 realtors located in Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford Counties.
For the year-to-date 2013 vs. year-to-date 2012, total activity increased 19 percent. Residential sales reported increased 19 percent from 8,348 to 9,925. The median sales price for the year was $143,000.
