Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate is looking to expand its volunteer tour docents and store attendants. The non-profit, a National Historic Landmark that operates as an educational center, museum and cornerstone of Lexington, features three full-time staff members and two part-time members and hosts over 12,000 tourists each year, and relies on a much-valued corps of approximately 75 volunteers.
Volunteers are requested to give at least 3 hours a month, and volunteer hours typically fall between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tues. - Saturday, with occasional Sunday hours as well (1-5 p.m.)
Ashland is hosting a two-day training session for potential volunteers on Saturday, February 28 and March 7 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Cottage at Ashland, 120 Sycamore Road.
