University of Kentucky Open Studio. Dec 4.The first Open Studio at the University of Kentucky's new art building will feature artwork by current Art and Visual Studies students. The MFA and BFA studios will be open with students present to talk about their ongoing projects, and a juried exhibition will be on display, with artwork for sale. Kentucky Christmas at Ashland. Dec. 5.
The Henry Clay Memorial Foundation presents this inaugural, all-Kentucky holiday market. The grounds around the historic mansion will be transformed into a village-like marketplace for this inaugural event, featuring Kentucky Proud products and work by other Kentucky artisans and crafters for sale. Mystical and Paranormal Fair. Dec. 5-6. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. A special holiday version of this monthly fair, featuring representatives from local healing arts professionals and more, along with pampering services and gift certificates. Psychics, mediums, tarot, oracle and palm readers, reflexology, massage therapy, Reiki, aromatherapy, metaphysical jewelry and supplies and local artisans & craft merchants of all genres, including fine equine art & gifts from The Collectors Gallery. Michler's Christmas Market. Dec. 5-6. Located in the beautiful setting of Michler’s Greenhouses, the seasonal outdoor beer garden Kentucky Native Cafe will provide an romantic setting for the inaugural Michler’s Christmas Market. Featuring the aromas of blooming citrus blending with the cinnamon and cloves of hot mulled wine, Christmas pastries piled up for the sweet tooth to nibble by a fire, the sound of cello echoing off the glass and a full house of local artists and artisans. A diversity of vendors will provide locally made ceramics, wood carvings, jewelry, toys, fabrics and more, Michler’s wreath makers will craft wreaths all day and florists will decorate boxwood trees. tadoo Holiday Extravaganza. Dec. 10. This holiday extravaganza hosted by tadoo.com features music from DJ Jamples; a local music sampler station; local food and craft beer; and a bevy of local vendors, handmade items, goods and delights from all kinds – from comic books to photography to handcrafted terrariums, sodas, art pieces and more.
