Frederick the Younger has no shortage of guitar hooks, ambient washes, and bombastic drumming. Their infectious rhythm section and jangly guitars are the perfect companion to Jenni’s lush vocals that harken back to an earlier time. Their songs blend vintage pop melodies, unique harmonies, and uncommon chord changes and are as explosive as they are intimate.
Based in Lexington, KY, with roots in both Savannah, GA and the California coast, Ancient Warfare are currently promoting their Summer 2015 Alias Records release, The Pale Horse. Since 2011, they have developed a fierce reputation for hard work and dynamic performance, sharing stages with artists such as Raveonettes, The War on Drugs, Chelsea Wolfe, Heartless Bastards, Wax Fang and Horse Feathers. Ancient Warfare’s live show ebbs and flows from hushed harmony vocals to austere, tube-driven waves of sound.
