An event designed to pay tribute to the timeless study of the figure through the spacious, historic galleries of the Loudoun House. Interactive figure drawing, live painting demonstration, and contemporary takes on the self portrait are exciting highlights of this Fourth Friday event, which pays homage to the wildly popular nude exhibition that formerly defined Lexington Art League’s winter cycle.
With the drawing and painting areas staged by Stuart Hurt of House; drawing classes with live models led by Martin Beck; an evening-long painting demonstration by Sheldon Tapley, Professor of Art at Centre College; a “selfie room” (a mirrored room with cardstock and sketch pencils where participants can investigate themselves as the subject and object of their work in a more classical form); the unique sounds of The Swells; and light bites from Belle Notte.
Note: due to the possibility of inclement weather, Fourth Friday may be rescheduled for January 29, from 6-9pm. Be sure to check the LAL Facebook page, website or call 859-254-7024 for updates.
