The Jazz Arts Foundation and the Lexington Public Library continue their "Jazz: Live at the Library!" series of monthly concerts with an additional show for April celebrating The Smithsonian Institution’s Jazz Appreciation Month and UNESCO's world-wide celebration of International Jazz Day. This show will feature The Jazz Collective: Mark Gardner (Keys), Tim Fowler (Guitar), Tom Covello (Contra Bass Guitar), Dave McWhorter (Drums) and Frank Oddis (Percussion) are joined by Michael Cruse on Trumpet. Jazz Heroes is the theme this year paying homage to some of the greats: Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith and Freddy Hubbard. IJD Events are coordinated by the Thelonious Monk Institute and this special show is presented in part, by a grant from The Jazz Education Network, and The Herb Alpert Foundation.
