Downtown Lexington begins its weekend-long Fourth of July festival with the Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social on July 1, followed by family activities throughout the weekend that includes street festival and parade, artistic performances, food, beverage and retail vendors, a fireworks display and more.
July 1: Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social (12 p.m. Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park)
July 3: Patriotic Music Concert (8 p.m. at Morrison Lawn, Transylvania University)
July 4: Activities include the Bluegrass 10K (7 a.m.); downtown street festival (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.); parade (2 p.m.); live music at “July 4th Live!” (7:30-9:30 p.m.); and fireworks (10 p.m.)
